There are two types of people in this world:

    • People who buy an app and have the discipline to work out alone at home or in the gym
    • People who have to sign up for a class and have someone tell them what to do

I fall under the second category. Unless I’m paying money for someone to instruct me on what to do, I simply will not work out. I don’t have the self-discipline to go to the gym in the morning ever

If you’re considering outsourcing your HR department, you have to put yourself in the same mindset.

    • Is your HR department a well-oiled machine that needs support, or;
    • Does your HR department need hands-on training and development?

In this article, we’re going to review what HRO looks like at Whirks. You need to know precisely what we offer and how much it costs, so you can see if we’re the right fit for you and your growing business.

    What is HRO?

Human Resources Outsourcing (HRO) provides strategic support to your team while equipping business leaders with tools to improve day-to-day talent management and operations.

HR outsourcing offers either a full-service HR department or lifts some of the responsibilities off of your HR department’s shoulders.

It’s an excellent option for a growing business struggling to juggle HR tasks amid other responsibilities. If you have an HR manager who is a one-man band, it can relieve their workload to recruit and manage great employees.

At Whirks, we offer two HRO packages to our clients: The Teacher and The Trainer. Each comes with full access to our templates and tutorials that help you understand critical HR functions.

    The Teacher

This package helps keep your HR department in shape. You or your HR manager will be doing the heavy-lifting, with the Whirks team acting as your spotter to catch any potential dangers or risks.

This package benefits a small, growing business because it provides the HR basics and helps you stay risk-free and compliant.

We charge $5 per employee per month for this service, with a minimum amount of $100/month. This means that if you have less than 25 employees, you are not qualified for this package.

Let’s walk through what The Teacher includes:

    1. Risk Assessment

After you choose this package, our HRO manager, Greg Henderson, will walk you through a risk assessment to determine your customized action plan.

    2. Living Handbook

We create a comprehensive handbook for your business that’s fully compliant with federal and state requirements. It can be updated and edited at any time before your annual handbook review.

    3. Department of Labor Posters

Hard copies will be mailed to your office, and you will receive new posters after critical updates from the Department of Labor at state and federal levels.

    4. HR Hotline

Instead of relying on Google searches to navigate scary HR issues, you can access solutions from our HR guru. He will provide you with a solution based on your unique situation.

    5. HRIS Support

Our team will be responsible for testing all salaried employees in order to validate their FLSA exempt status. We also handle the EEO category and Worker’s Compensation items. Every HR task is tracked and accounted for by us.

    The Trainer

Our second package, The Trainer, steps in the ring to help develop your team and improve your leadership.

A growth-minded midsize company is best suited for this package because it involves managing more employees.

We price this package at $20 per employee per month, with a minimum of $700 per month. If you have less than 35 employees, we will not be able to service you.

The Trainer includes everything in the Teacher, as well as the following services:

    1. Management Training

Our HRO leader coaches your management to navigate difficult HR situations and helps them develop their leadership skills.

    2. Talent Development

We will help you identify and promote your top players while also helping you assess potential, remember training needs, and correct poor performance.

    3. Job Descriptions

With our support, you will develop detailed and well-rounded job descriptions so you can attract and hire the best talent.

    4. KRA Creation

Creating Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs) for your employees helps define job roles. This encourages you to evaluate your team’s performance and set goals, resulting in higher employee engagement, more promotions, and better hires.

    5. Best Places to Work Application

We will work with you to improve weak areas in your company culture and apply to win the Best Places to Work accolade.

Do you need to outsource your HR?

Whether you pay $5 or $20 for a workout app, you’re wasting your money either way if you don’t use it.

You may not need to outsource your HR yet. If you know you are federally and state compliant and feel confident in your processes, it may be best to reconsider outsourcing HR at a later time.

However, if you’re a quickly growing business that’s hiring and firing many people, it’s probably a good idea to look into outsourcing your HR.

If you have limited HR knowledge, then taking these responsibilities onto yourself or an employee puts your company at risk. At that point, paying for either package will save you from disaster in the long run.

If you choose Whirks as your HRO partner, we will help you combat potential risks, strengthen your leadership, and lift up your team. You’ll get your HR department in shape, and we’ll help you get one step better.
